The three members were then replaced by two new members: former vocal trainer Solji, who was originally a member of the duo 2NB as well as a solo artist, and fellow AB Entertainment trainee Hyelin, who was intended to debut with the other six members before she was cut from the lineup. The former members of the group would eventually re-debut in 2014 as BESTie with Dahye being a fourth member. The group then released their first mini album Hippity Hop on August 13, 2012. The following month, EXID performed in the US for the first time in Los Angeles, California at the Korean Music Festival.
