After the Revolution, the Hôtel de Matignon passed from hand to hand. It was bought by Talleyrand, who sold it to Napoleon in 1811. The Hôtel Matignon (French: Hôtel de Matignon, pronounced [otɛl də matiɲɔ̃]) is the official residence of the Prime Minister of France. It is located in the 7th arrondissement of Paris , at 57 Rue de Varenne.
Malgré son nom, l'Hôtel de Matignon n'est pas un hôtel à proprement parler. Il est l'un des monuments principaux du gouvernement français. C'est en effet dans cet édifice du 7e arrondissement de Paris que loge et travaille le Premier Ministre de la France.
