Mar 28, 2024 · Northam, former town, southwestern Western Australia. It lies at the confluence of the Avon (upper course of the Swan) and Mortlock rivers, about 60 miles (100 km) northeast of Perth. In 2007 the town merged administratively with the shire of Northam, which included a number of other towns.
