Review: “Ritual” by Soulfly. Brazilian Metallers now relocated to Phoenix Arizona, Soulfly have often come in for a large amount of often unnecessary stick. Metal purists have often argued that Max Cavalera should have stayed with Sepultura after “Roots” in 1996 rather than leaving the band on a high and forging his own path.
Oct 7, 2018 · With some chillingly good acoustic soloing over beautiful, smooth saxophone (yes, saxophone), the template riff for the entire movement echoes Metallica’s “One” just a little too closely. Overall, a rather unexpected, but very welcomed risk from the band.

Oct 8, 2018 · Maybe all that good work with his brother Igor gave Max an extra boost of mojo; Ritual is metal’s umpteen-trillionth testament to the value of good songwriting. Still, it’s hard not to notice that the album’s true highlight, penultimate track “Feedback!”, is also its most different.
Ritual is the eleventh album by American heavy metal band Soulfly, released on October 19, 2018, through Nuclear Blast.
