Apr 5, 2024 · Compared to those films, Monkey Man is almost an independent picture, albeit with a guerilla (no pun intended) filmmaking quality that still exceeds most contemporary Hollywood fight scenes. It's time Hollywood starts taking Dev Patel's skills as a filmmaker and fighter seriously. Still, what Patel gets is how to tell a solid character drama.
