‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Again’ is the story of Shoaib, an underworld don who came to power by killing his mentor and has extended his kingdom with the help of his best friend, Javed, and his former lover, Mumtaz.
The film is loosely based on the lives of Mumbai underworld gangsters Haji Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim. A sequel, Once Upon ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara!, was released in 2013. Plot. The film opens in March 1993 in Bombay, with a suicide attempt by DCP Agnel Wilson on the pretext of the recent Bombay bombings.
