Ezhavathu Manithan (pronounced [eːɻaːʋaðu maniðan] transl. The Seventh Man) is a 1982 Indian Tamil-language film co-written and directed by K. Hariharan. Inspired by a real-life incident, the film focuses on environmental pollution and exploitation of industrial workers.

When the film was released in 1982 it was part of a massive rennaisance in Tamil cinema along with illustrious debutants like Bharatiraja, Mahendran, Bhagyaraja and Balu Mahendra. The film won the national award for the best Tamil film and went on to participate at Moscow and London.

The film tells of labour/ management conflicts in a Tirunelveli district village, the home of the legendary late 19th C. Tamil poet Bharati (cf. DMK Film) whose poems are featured in the movie, contrasting his utopian vision with contemporary conditions.
Anand, a skilled engineering graduate, comes to a village from Madras to work in a cement factory. He is shocked when he learns about the exploitation and mistreatment of the workers there. Arjun, the corrupt manager of the factory, takes half of the wages from every worker as his commission.
Ezhavathu Manithan is a Tamil drama movie released on 27th May 1983. The movie marks the directorial debut of the renowned director K. Hariharan. The film features Raghuvaran and S. Sathyendra in the lead roles, supported by a talented ensemble of actors including K. Bhagyaraj, Poornima Jayaram, and Viji Chandrasekhar.
