Faisalabad District ( Lyallpur District until 1979) [3] ( Punjabi and Urdu: ضلع فیصل آباد) is one of the districts of Punjab province, Pakistan. Faisalabad lies in the rolling flat plains of northeast Punjab, at 186 metres (610 ft) above sea level. The city proper comprises approximately 1,326 square kilometres (512 sq mi) while the district encompasses more than 16,000 square kilometres (6,200 sq mi).
