GW considers an international student to be any applicant of foreign nationality who will be entering, or has already entered, the US with a valid visa.

If you are an international student interested in applying to a graduate program at GW, you must follow the same application process and submit the same general application materials as your peers, along with some additional requirements. Please note that international students are not generally admitted for our summer sessions.
International Student Aid . GW awards exceptionally qualified international students with merit scholarships in recognition of their academic accomplishments. See details on merit scholarships below. GW is unable to offer need-based or U.S. government aid to international applicants.
International Students. If you are in F-1 or J-1 immigration status, you must register for and maintain enrollment in a “full course of study” as defined by federal regulations. GW is required to verify your registration each term and report it to the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).
GW does not require SAT/ACT scores for most students, but it does require English language proficiency for international applicants. For details, review our international application process and our test-optional policy.
