You can have a little coffee on the terrace in one of the brasseries. I recommend going early because from 10 a.m., you walk closely together in the aisles.

The cherry is the symbol of the town of Céret. Indeed, it seems the two are becoming inseparable! For more than 150 years, the cherry has found its ideal earth and climate in this part of Vallespir. This agricultural area, the southernmost in France, has slightly sloping land and fine soils which filter easily.

Apr 15, 2010 · Céret’s scenic Saturday markets are one of the highlights of a visit to the French Catalan village – people come from far and wide to browse the markets – and as our last weekend in Céret was the first time the place had really experienced fine spring weather, the whole village was simply buzzing.
Céret is a lovely little town in the eastern Pyrénées, with cafes and art shops, shady trees and a lot of character, based around narrow streets between the small open squares, and with parts of the old town walls still standing.
