  1. Ashford is a town in the Ashford district, in the county of Kent, England. It lies on the River Great Stour at the southern or scarp edge of the North Downs , about 61 miles (98 km) by road southeast of central London [2] and 15 miles (24 km) northwest of Folkestone by road.

    • Godinton House. Immediately northwest of Ashford is a country estate that was the seat of the Toke family for more than 455 years up to 1895. Since the last owner passed away n 1996, the estate has been looked after by a charitable trust and opens to visitors for guided tours.
