There is a way in Finale. You go to the second ending measures in speedy entry and click on the note that needs to receive a tie. Then one uses the menu to attach a tie. I don't have Finale with me at the moment to give the exact instructions. And I don't know that print music has that capacity. David

other than for chamber music, I simply find linked parts too limiting to use the same file for both score and parts. in other words, for orchestral scores, I have two scores: one a full score for printing, the other a score optimized so that the linked parts come out right. linked parts still helps in having all of your material within a single ...

Logic Pro 8, Digital Performer, Loaded MAC Tower, two screens, a whole bag of sample libraries including Full GPO, some VSL, True Strike 1 and 2, and now Xsample Chamber Instruments and I have a long ways to go to understand how us all of this.... but quite familiar with Finale!
There are different ways. You can attach the 2. to the first syllable, then adjust the position manually. Type 2., then put a hard space (alt+0160), then the syllable. This is the quickest way, although maybe not the most elegant. Zuill. "When all is said and done, more is said than done."

Since I use a pretty consistent bunch of orchestral patches, is there a way I can create them once in Finale, and then have every future Finale piece refer to them?
