Abiquiú ( / ˈæbɪkjuː / ⓘ, Spanish pronunciation: [aβiˈkju], Tewa: Péshú:bú'; Northern Tiwa: Gultɨdda) is a census-designated place in Rio Arriba County, in northern New Mexico in the southwestern United States, about 53 miles (85 km) north of Santa Fe.
Abiquiu is one of the most beautiful locations in Rio Arriba County, and truly all of North Central New Mexico. It is most famous for being the home of Georgia O’Keeffe, who lived there from 1949 until shortly before her death in 1986. ADDRESS: 53 miles north of Santa Fe. REGION: NorthCentral.
