Some cover songs may be eligible for monetization. To be eligible, the music publisher must claim the song through the Content ID system and elect to monetize it. If the song has not been claimed, you cannot monetize your video. Explicit written permission from the rights owner of the song should be given beforehand.
If a song does not have an accompanying music video, the audio version will play instead. Audio-only mode does not prevent music videos from being played in YouTube Music. If the only file available for playback on YouTube Music is a music video, the music video will play in audio-only mode.
Fair use is a legal doctrine that says you can reuse copyright-protected material under certain circumstances without getting the copyright owner’s permission. From the left menu, select Content . Click the video you’d like to edit. From the left menu, click Editor . Select Audio use the search filters to find a new audio track. Click Play to preview tracks. When you find a song you like, click ADD. The song will appear in the editor in a blue box. Drag the box to change when the song should start.
