  1. Mar 8, 2023 · Elevation layer units in feet, but treated as meters. I have published a web elevation layer (from a scene in ArcPro). The units are in feet and are in the 5,000's range. This is a snip from an elevation profile done with the scene viewer. The elevation units are being treated as meters and multiplied by 3.048 to 'convert them' to feet.

  2. Jan 30, 2014 · I am working with the LIDAR .tif files off MassGIS. I haven't dealt with rasters in a while. The pixel values (Elevation in Meters) needs to be converted to feet for the purpose of my project. The Coordinate system of the files are in UTM 19 Meters. What would be the standard way to convert the Pixel values, or convert the entire tif, so the ...

  3. Mar 27, 2024 · I am trying to calculate a field from the SHAPE.LEN field and convert it from meters to feet.... I ran the calculate field in ArcPro and it worked fine.. I exported the Python and it gave me thisimport arcpy arcpy.management.CalculateField("GIS_DATA.SDE_DITCHING", "LENGTH_FT", "MetersToFeet((float(...

  4. Aug 7, 2023 · The difference between International and US Survey Feet is that the international foot is defined as 0.3048 meters, whereas the US survey foot is 1200/3937 meters (or 0.30480061). However, earlier this year Congress retired the US survey foot as a unit of measure. I hope this helps, Andrew. Reply. 1 Kudo.

  5. Aug 8, 2013 · Use ArcObjects to change units from meters to feet in UTM_Zone_13N. I inhereted an ArcObject system in 9.3 that reads in a csv file of XY locations and converts it into our state plane coord system. Recently the csv source went from NAD_27 to NAD_1983 w/ UTM_ZONE13N. I am close to getting this to work but my problem (I think) is that the csv ...

  6. Currently by default, the units for Z-values stored with the feature geometry is in meters this is due to the NMEA standard also sending the elevation values in meters. ArcGIS Field Maps doesn't currently have support for performing vertical datum transformations to the desired vertical coordinate systems and in the desired units of feet.

  7. Mar 24, 2011 · Your question isn't very clear; however if you want to display contours in feet you can do the following. Load the featureclass into ArcMap. Create a new field - and call it Metres. Then using this conversion: 1 meter = 3.2808399 feet. Calculate your new field by multiplying the Metre elevation field by 3.2808399. Hope this helps.

  8. Oct 30, 2023 · Hi. Vertical transformations in ArcGIS is a bit confusing to me. Case 1: Local datum feet to meter transformation I have received some data with a defined local vertical datum and made a definition for it (called HWI_local_feet). Made a similar one but defined it with meters (HWI_local_meters). I t...

  9. Sep 18, 2017 · As far as I know, ArcGIS does not support conversion between vertical datum. Since the datum remains the same (NAVD88), I assume I can use raster calculator to apply the following transformation to each cell value: Value * (39.37/12) {Convert linear unit from Meter to US_Feet) However, the metadata would still state that the units are in Meter ...

  10. Dec 26, 2019 · by JimCousins. 12-31-2019 07:48 AM. If this value is meters, the feet equivalent will be larger. If you are uncertain of the units, the meta data should indicate the vertical units. If there is no metadata, add the USATopo layer to your map and compare the values of the raster to the contour values of the topo.
