The Company was formed by the merger of Hindustan Aircraft Limited with Aeronautics India Limited and Aircraft Manufacturing Depot, Kanpur.
HAL achieved self-reliance in design, developing & manufacturing of twin engine Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH). ALH is a multi-role, multi mission all weather helicopter in the 5.5 ton category. The indigenously designed twin engine helicopter started series production during 2001-2002.

Welcome to the Engine Division of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. HAL, Engine division was established at Bangalore during 1956 for production of Orpheus Turbo Jet Engines under license agreement with M/S Rolls-Royce.
