Wen Ning makes his way to Dafan Mountain, appearing when Wei Wuxian once more used demonic cultivation to battle the possessed Heavenly Maiden. Wen Ning successfully fights the Heavenly Maiden, saving Jin Ling, Lan Sizhui, Lan Jingyi, and multiple other juniors.
Wen Ning arrives at Fu Feng and realizes the abnormality of the town. The whole town is filled with only the weak and sick; and is very run down. When the night arrives, Wen Ning lights up a lamp to attract ghost shadows.
Wen Ning trails and accompanies Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji for much of their journey. While Wei Wuxian enjoys Wen Ning's company, Wei Wuxian worries for Wen Ning's lack of direction, as he has followed either Wen Qing or Wei Wuxian for his entire life.
Fierce Corpse: As a result of Wei Wuxian's Demonic Cultivation, Wen Ning is the first known sentient Fierce Corpse. His strength far exceeds an ordinary human's, enabling him to lift boulders and break stone.[1]
