Rodica Lazăr s-a născut în Onești, județul Bacău. A terminat UNATC în 2001, secția actorie. Încă din facultate colaborează și ulterior este angajată la Teatrul Bulandra din București, unde are ocazia să lucreze cu unii dintre cei mai buni regizori ai teatrului românesc contemporan: Alexandru Darie, Andrei Șerban, Yury Kordonsky.
