The twins went out of their way to be unlikable. They opine about everyone's white privilege while living the most privileged lives imaginable. They turn on their parents at the first opportunity, and they ignore imminent danger so they can focus on their teenage drama. The dad cheating had zero affect on the plot.
The Bad. It definitely felt like the whole warlock mass-resurrection thing was a means to avoid talking about Geoff being gay and how that plays into passing on their heritage. Alice, Viv, and Geoff are the last remaining members of their warlock community after all. "After the Dark" had the balls to consider this angle.
Feb 2, 2020 · Diablero is an excellent series. Far far better than October Faction. I gave it a shot. Was irritated by the reasons above, the rich privileged world traveling multi-lingual kid going on about white privilege, not to mention that Viv is so woke that she questions why her parents kill monsters since it is so violent and one-sided.
Aug 31, 2021 · So, to preface, I found October Faction via this list of tv shows from the 20s with LGBT characters; that I'm going through a bit of a phase right now of only really wanting to watch representation, for want of a better word, so this review will be coming from that angle.
Mar 30, 2020 · Mediocre writing, moronic characters, hack political opinions shoehorned into poorly acted scenes, actors who haven't been the teenagers they play since Obama was in office. Just powered through season 1, I thought it was awful. The writing made the acting bad. There was potential but it was wasted.
Jan 23, 2020 · The plot was okay nothing really different. Unfortunately they failed to put a decent spin on it. I also hated the twist concerning the twins. Overall would probably rate it a 7/10 at most. I would actually rate it a 5.5/10. One of the only reasons I actually stuck around was because how hot the mother and son were.

Jan 24, 2020 · Bobby, their surrogate father, would have made a better lead in October Faction. He looks and acts like he’s been hunting monsters for 25 years. He’s not some beef cake. He’s hardened, worn and alcoholic. In fact most if not all the older hunters look like they’ve been hunting for 25 years and know how to do it.

Just a few examples that have come out recently. October Faction was an offbrand Umbrella Academy / Kingsman ripoff, it wasn't terrible, but just as we're seeing a lot of really good shows, we're also getting a lot of really flawed shows.
