Martin Swaney is a semi-retired bassist best known for his tenures with the "High Voltage" lineup of Pentagram, along with his tenure with Death Row. Swaney would begin his career in a singer-less group alongside Joe Hasselvander Richard Kueht (guitar) and Paul Trowbridge (guitar).
Hasselvander was playing in a group consisting of himself (drums), Richard Kueht (guitar), Paul Trowbridge (guitar), and Marty Swaney (bass). Personal problems caused this line-up to dissolve later in 1979.

Martin Swaney plays with a nice trebley bass tone which sits nicely in the mix and is hearable on every song, but noticeable especially during a couple Geezer-esque melodic fills. The original drums sound good, as stated previously.
Feb 4, 2022 · Martin Swaney's bass isn't that audible on this release, but certainly does its job well. The music on 'Pentagram/Relentless' is varied. There are some traditional heavy metal-inspired doom rockers like "Death Row", "Relentless" and "Dying World" with some lively riffing and up-beat tempo.
