Jamuna Sen (née Bose) (Bengali: যমুনা সেন) (7 October 1912 – 10 February 2001) was an Indian artist, known for her design work in a variety of mediums including Batik and Alpona as well as developing, in an Indian context, a variety of traditional crafts from across the world.
Nov 26, 2021 · Jamuna Sen was Nandalal Bose’s youngest daughter. She followed her sister Gauri’s footsteps, joining the Kala Bhavana as a student in the early 1930s. In her initial years, crafts did not interest Jamuna; instead, she learnt the art of creating frescos and linocut print making along with painting.

The youngest daughter of Nandalal Bose, wife of my uncle Keshab (Shebak) Chandra Sen, Jamuna Sen was a true artist in every sense of the word. During her teen years she became an accomplished classical dancer and was one of Tagore s favorite to take the leading role in so many of his dance dramas.
