Aug 21, 2019 · Graham Moffatt was a popular comedy actor in the 1930s and 1940s, known for his role as Albert in films like 'Oh, Mr. Porter!' and 'Ask a Policeman'. The Will Hay Appreciation Society unveiled a blue plaque at his former pub, The Swan at Braybrooke, in his 100th year.
Moffatt was born on 6 December 1919 in Hammersmith, West London (England). He first worked as a call boy at Shepherd's Bush Studios, until actor Tom Walls suggested him for a bit part in the 1934 film A Cup of Kindness. Moffatt appeared in five more films, in mostly uncredited, minor roles, before getting his big break in Will Hay's Where There's Will (1936), then going on to appear in many more of Hay's films, alongside Moore Marriott.
Graham Moffatt was a British actor who worked with Will Hay, Edmund Gwenn and Arthur Askey in comedy films. He also ran a pub with his wife Joyce and died in 1965.
