Lǐ Hēng. Emperor Suzong of Tang (yihai day, 711 [4] – 16 May 762; [5] r. 756 – 762), personal name Li Heng, né Li Sisheng (李嗣升), known as Li Jun (李浚) from 725 to 736, known as Li Yu (李璵) from 736 to 738, known briefly as Li Shao (李紹) in 738, was an emperor of the Chinese Tang dynasty and the son of Emperor Xuanzong.
Xuanzong (born 685, Luoyang, China—died 762, Chang’an [now Xi’an, Shaanxi province]) was the temple name (miaohao) of the seventh emperor of the Tang dynasty (618–907) of China, which during his reign (712–756) achieved its greatest prosperity and power. Li Longji was the third son of the Ruizong emperor, who was himself a son of the empress Wuhou.
Emperor Shunzong of Tang (February to March 761 [8] – February 11, 806 [4]), personal name Li Song, was an emperor of the Chinese Tang dynasty. He was created crown prince in 779 and became emperor in 805 after the death of his father Emperor Dezong, of whom he was the oldest son.

- The Rise of the Tang Dynasty. After the fall of the Han Dynasty (202 BCE-220 CE), the country went through a period of changing rule in which the Wei, Jin, and Wu Hu dynasties governed in succession.

Emperor Suzong of Tang, whose personal name was Li Heng, was an emperor of the Tang dynasty and the son of Emperor Xuanzong. He ascended the throne after his father fled to Sichuan during the An Lushan Rebellion in 756.
