In the early 19505 he participated in a series of successful recordings as a sideman for various West Coast jazz luminaries, including Chet Baker, Shelly Manne, Shorty Rogers, Red Norvo, Pete Rugolo, Bill Holman, and Maynard Ferguson.

Bob Gordon, 11 June 1928 – 28 August 1955, was an American cool jazz baritone and saxophonist. He was born in St. Louis Missouri. He is best known for his work as a sideman to musicians such as Stan Kenton, Shelly Manne (Chet Baker), Chet Ferguson, Maynard Ferguson and Jack Montrose.
