Dream warriors stopped Freddy from being just another run of the mill slasher villain and the film makers used the dream sequences to really differentiate Freddy from Myers and Jason. Without dream warriors tone who knows how the rest of the series would have proceeded if it would have carried on at all after how bad number 2 was received.
Everyone talking about the cast, kills, and lore expansion (the best in the series and no other comes close) no one talking about the rocking Dream Warriors theme song. It's hair metal bliss. For me the best of the Nightmare movies are the Nancy Trilogy- 1,3 and new nightmare. New Nightmare is very decisive though.

This movie is the horror equivalent of Terminator 2. It takes everything that fans loved about the original and raises the bar in every regard. Instead of merely repeating the original, they instead built upon, expanded and improved everything, from concepts and lore to set-pieces and SFX. 306 58.

She realized two things that wasn’t specific to anyone, 1) he could be pulled out into the real world and hurt and 2) he grew stronger off of fear. Thinking about 3.. Kristen was really the only person with a real power in the series, being able to pull people into her dreams.
Sep 12, 2018 · Unpopular opinion: A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors is overrated and boring. A lot say this is the best sequel of the series but imo I find it boring, drags on way too long, not half as fun as Dream Master or the first film. Plus Patricia Arquette sucks as a final girl and a actress. The only saving grace was Heather returning as Nancy.
It’s definitely the most cohesive for sure, but I’ve got a soft spot for the meta-plot of New Nightmare. Definitely! I like to compare A nightmare on elm street 1 to Alien, and Dream Warriors with Aliens. A nightmare on Elm street 1 is pure horror, and Dream Warriors is action-horror. I love both of them.

"This is God" and the outstretched arms have always stuck with me as really great moments from the series.
