RESPIN is a project that collects and makes available speech data in nine Indian languages for developing voice-based technologies in agriculture and finance domains. The project aims to enable affordable and accurate speech to text and natural language processing solutions for the poor and illiterate users in India.
IISc researchers have received grants to create and share open source voice datasets for automatic speech recognition and text-to-speech in nine Indian languages. The project aims to bridge the digital divide and enable access to services for low-income and marginalised populations.
SPIRE Lab is a research group at IISc that works on signal processing, interpretation and representation, and speech recognition in Indian languages.
