About Us. NTPC Overview. NTPC is India’s largest energy conglomerate with roots planted way back in 1975 to accelerate power development in India. Since then it has established itself as the dominant power major with presence in the entire value chain of the power generation business.
NTPC is developing 6 coal blocks allocated directly to it and one coal block of PVUNL, a JV of NTPC with Govt. of Jharkhand, for captive consumption of the coal. The total peak rated annual production capacity of these coal blocks estimated to be 71 MMT to fuel approximately 15 GW of NTPC.
