Harvard Medical School Scholarships. Financial need is the only criterion used to determine the amount of HMS scholarship a student receives. This program is funded from endowed funds, current fundraising, and unrestricted income. For a full-need student, the HMS scholarship funding covers both tuition and mandatory fees.

Financial aid is awarded on an annual basis. Each year, students are required to complete the financial aid application process anew. Application materials are provided electronically to admitted students and to all waitlisted admissions candidates. Returning students receive instructions via email.

Should a student’s enrollment drop to less than full time (a rare occurrence in the MD program), the student must notify the Financial Aid Office as soon as possible so that any necessary revisions can be made to the financial aid award.
