Jan 13, 2018 · Skipping out on his class' graduation ceremony, Hiro retreats to a forest lake, where he encounters a mysterious girl with two horns growing out of her head. She introduces herself by her codename Zero Two, which is known to belong to an infamous FranXX pilot known as the "Partner Killer."
Shortly after, a Klaxosaur attacks, disrupting Hiro's graduation ceremony and leaving Zero Two's partner killed in action. So Zero Two, left without a partner, lets Hiro ride with her and Hiro becomes Zero Two's "darling," although later in the series, he would become her partner.
