Jun 24, 2019 · The new law reinforces the approach of the juvenile justice system to children in conflict with the law as well as children in need of care and protection. The Juvenile Justice Act of 2015 redefined the “minor” in conflict with the law into a “child” in conflict with the law.
It replaced the Indian juvenile delinquency law, Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000, and allows for juveniles in conflict with Law in the age group of 16–18, involved in Heinous Offences, to be tried as adults.
