PCDA (Army) Pune, is an organisation with antecedents dating back to the year 1789. The organisation is engaged in the tasks of providing accounting, audit, payment and financial advice services to about 1,050 Units and Formations in the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat. Another major function of the organisation is accounting and release of pay and fund claims to PBORs through a network of computerised Pay Accounts Offices.
The origin of PCDA(CC) can be traced in form of Pay (Army) Office which was set up in 1976 under an Accounts Officer at Lucknow for Pay & Allowances of civilians of Army, MES etc at Kanpur, Allahabad and Lucknow under jurisdiction of CDA(CC) Meerut. This office was upgraded to an Area Accounts Office in 1980 under the charge of an I.D.A.S Officer. The scope and area of work was greatly enhanced by raising it to a full-fledged CDA office in May 1986.
