Interlochen State Park is situated between two well-known fishing and swimming lakes: Green Lake and Duck Lake. The park was established as Michigan's first state park by the Michigan Legislature in 1917, which paid $60,000 for the land.
Jul 2023 • Family. Our favorite State Park campground - which also happens to be Michigan's oldest State Park. Nestled between two Lakes, the virgin forest is lush and full. The campground facilities are excellent, the rangers kind and helpful, the camping quiet and the proximity to Interlochen Arts Center makes this a perfect location.
