May 11, 2016 · I opened the settings.dat found on C:\Users\"YourUserNameHere"\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent and deleted the following lines (just hit the DEL button): .fileguard (b) [40] = "YourHashHere" anoninfo (i)= 0. After that i saved the modified file and utorrent opened just fine.

SUCCESS!!! 2-3hrs of mucking around, I now am successfully 12% of the way through a magnet file in my uTorrent.. :cool: Open a chrome browser, install an app from Chromestore (magentme or magnet2torrent etc) it basically shortens/converts the magnet file to a torrent file.. took 2min to install, <1min to get magnet into uTorrent = happy camper!!!
Jan 14, 2010 · In branches 1.8 and 2.0, Win X86 but not Mac:The program fails to delete "not in use" .torrent files in its own local "cache" that has this general path:C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent If you delete all the .torrent files in this directory, you have to load them in again.
Apr 22, 2014 · Thanks neconnn Disabling UAC helped. Now uTorrent is working just fine. For those who don't know/remember how to disable UAC: Start > Control Panel In search box type UAC.
Sep 22, 2014 · I have been using uTorrent on Mac for about 3 years now and have rarely encountered files that, upon download, tell you the remaining time is infinity. Usually canceling that torrent and selecting a different file from a different site seems to fix the problem. However, now all of my files are coming up with the infinity symbol.

Jul 13, 2014 · Namely, when I try to open a torrent file or try to download through magnet link the uTorrent program starts (the file is associated) but no window is displayed in which I can choose the location or the label of the torrent file, and moreover I get the message "The torrent file you are trying to add is already in the list of torrents, Do you want to load the trackers from it".
Feb 14, 2010 · Hi there new to utorrent, and while I was doing the speed test it would fail on the closest area, so I did what was the users here said and it worked, thanks for that. However first time configure so I enabled the encryption like the welcome page said and then ran a speed test again to the closest location, which was failing before.
