Cons: •. The hills-this can be a shock to the system at first if you're not used to it, but it quickly just becomes something you don't think about. Overall, I have a very positive view of Sheffield. Nov 27, 2015 · In terms of international reputation I think Sheffield's the one that's better regarded overall, I'd also imagine it's a bit more known in the genetics/biology circles given the Nobel prizes awarded in association with the university (Most notably the Krebs cycle which was research conducted at the university, but also therapeutic effect of Penicillin and existence of introns in eukaryotes by a former professor and a graduate)
Rents in Sheffield definitely aren't cheap unless you specifically go looking for cheap housing, but you lose a lot going from £5500pa inc bills (which is about the average) to 5000pa, let alone 4000pa. But yeah my friends who got to unis in rich parts of the South pay less than I do for similar quality accommodation.

The rooms are all en suite, but vary in size depending on where they are; it's a converted building so some rooms are an odd shape. The kitchens are shared between 4 or 5 people and have a dining table & chairs but there's no other social space ...
