Sep 28, 2022 · Really need to re-watch this. The first time I did I randomly came across it on tv while tripping on LSD by myself. Don't really remember a whole lot other than it had really cool atmosphere and super surreal. Killer line up on TV that day, the Adam West Batman movie played after.
Feb 26, 2022 · Interesting note: my personal Ghibli favorite is Howl's Moving Castle but it wasn't that popular in Japan (like Spirited Away or Princess Mononoke, etc.). And I didn't understand for a long time until a Japanese friend explained that they didn't get really great voice actors for the Japanese version. And so it's a totally different movie.

Jschultz220. ADMIN MOD. Today I rewatched Spirited Away for the first time since I was a child. Recommendation. First off, holy shit that was an amazing experience. I went into it know it would be good, but I wasn't expecting it to be such a masterpiece. It hasn't left my head once for the entire day.

Jan 15, 2022 · It's fun hearing recognizable voices in small roles; the actor for Shinji from Neon Genesis Evangelion showed up as a minor character in Plastic Little, for example. Perfect Blue has a decent English dub since it removes a line from the Japanese version at the end of the movie that makes absolutely no sense.
Apr 5, 2023 · if this isn't a college course you should be providing class time to play the movie for students yourself or providing funds to pay for the movie themselves. in the future i urge you to refrain from assignments like this unless you can guarantee 100% legal and free access to the film for students OR unless you're showing the film in class or providing them legal ways to watch it without them having to spend a dime
The main plot of the film is Chihiro’s journey, which involves working in an oppressive bathhouse. Luckily Chihiro manages to escape from this situation by the end. If every single worker escaped this bad situation, wouldn’t the movie have felt sugarcoated and disingenuous. In real life, most people don’t escape this.
