Sogou is a Chinese Input Method Editor that's very popular in Mainland China. There's a Wikipedia page about it. And here's its official homepage (Chinese only). I was persuaded to install it by reading some sites and talking to some Chinese who recommended it as the most popular way to type Chinese in China.
It is the last one joined into the competition, and I'd say it copied many ideas from Sogou as well, but its market share is drastically increasing due to the popularity QQ (the IM) in China. The features of the 3 IMEs are quite similar. You wouldn't have problems switching from one to another, by far I still like Sogou most.
Oct 6, 2017 · The difference here is that I have a language entry for chinese when I want to swich between keyboard layout (french, english, and this bloody chinese). I want to remove the chinese entry, since I uninstalled the software for this (Sogou). But in the available languages from the windows language panel, I only have french and english.
Go to Start > Type in regedit and start it. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Input Method/Hot Keys. Select the key named: 00000070 for the Chinese (Traditional) IME - Ime/NonIme Toggle hotkey. 00000010 for the Chinese (Simplified) IME - Ime/NonIme Toggle hotkey. In the right sub-window, there are three subkeys.
Install your other languages directly. 3.a If you're using Sogou, go to 输入法管理器, uncheck all languages except English, and check set it as default, press OK 3.b Launch 输入法管理器 again, check both English and Chinese, save as default, press OK. Jun 26, 2022 · 16. I was able to solve this by doing sudo apt install qtbase5-dev, then ./configure worked. It was completely non-obvious that the package name would be qtbase5-dev, since there's absolutely no way I could've known, short of Google searching for more than 30 min, that the package substring had base in between qt and 5. Don't ask me why but I want to switch between keyboard languages (I'm using US/UA) by pressing left control + space. I don't see this key combination in the appropriate settings, unfortunately.
