  1. May 24, 2019 · 1. Equipment: Canon 7D Mark II. I've been wanting to get a shutter count on my 7D Mark II and tried several of the softwares that I find online. None of them work. I've tried EOSinfo, Freeshuttercount, Camerashuttercount and others. None of them will give me a shutter count.

  3. Feb 8, 2020 · Yes, it's the same deal for my old 20D but the shutter count is included in the EXIF data on my 1Ds which was made sometime between the end of 2002 and the end of 2004. So, it's not as though they don't know how to do it.

The programs that do work get shutter count directly from the camera over USB.

  6. May 18, 2017 · 18 May 2017. #2. shutter count is a bit like miles done by a secondhand car. As you have noticed there is a huge variation because not everyone uses their camera in same way. So for example a professional might rack up 20K easily in a year. But someone who only takes shots on their holidays will probably rack up 1K in a year.

  7. Apr 13, 2017 · The X100S shutter count seemed to work out at around 6 times the image number (I know that various actions other than pressing the shutter button contribute to this). I understand that for the X100T the indicated shutter count was about 1.5 times the image number so obviously, Fuji are aware of this confusing issue.

  9. Dec 10, 2023 · The only time my electronic shutter gets any use is for video. It does have it's advantages with regard to burst modes (I can get 30fps electronic vs 9fps mechanical) but unless you've got stacked sensor like on the Nikon Z8/Z9 or a global shutter like the upcoming Sony A9III then there's always a risk of rolling shutter effect due to the line by line sensor read out speed.

  10. Mar 7, 2020 · Most cameras write shutter count to the EXIF data on each photo. So, most of the free counting apps and websites just scrape the count out of the image's metadata. Starting with the Digic 6 processor in 2013, Canon stopped putting that data point into EXIF. Now the only way to get at that piece of data is through the same wifi connection path ...
