Monster is an anime that has lofty aspirations and does not come close to fulfilling them. It starts out fairly exciting, but it turns into an endless menagerie of typical psychological anime bullshitting that pretends to be meaningful and significant, yet ultimately says patently obvious things and never imparts any meaning at all.

Monster is a really slow burn and is 74 episodes which may be daunting for some because of the slow burn. It was for me at first, and I read the manga beforehand. So I'm just giving my honest, and thought out opinion. Not telling them to do one over the other. Monster is soooo good, once you’re invested.
