Aug 15, 2024 · It's both perfectly framed within the same mad universe as Fury Road (and, arguably, the Max trilogy before it) and yet simultaneously utterly unlike anything you've ever seen before. Less part of any kind of "Mad Max Saga", and more its own insane odyssey, this is - perhaps moreso than any other modern blockbuster directorial output - pure, unadulterated visionary filmmaking at its most audaciously and deliciously ambitious.
Mar 10, 2015 · If I were to rank the Mad Max films in order of my preference it would be 1st Mad Max 2nd Mad Max - Fury Road 3rd Mad Max 2 - The Road Warrior 4th Mad Max 3 - Beyond the Thunderdome Do agree with some of the posters though, Mad Max seemed almost a secondary character in Fury Road. The influences of DC, which was his first love, reach deep into the films that he has made and, especially, the visual style and vocabulary that he employs.

And it's genius.
