Financial aid offers are based on a cost of attendance that is constructed based on several components as designated by federal regulations. The cost of attendance includes “Direct Costs” for expenses that are paid to FAU directly, such as tuition, fees and on-campus housing and meal plans.
Total tuition and fees are subject to change. Other costs such as Transportation Access Fees, Distance Learning Fee, lab fees, owl card fees (flat $10 fee), books, supplies and other materials are not included in this calculation.
FAU offers a Shuttle Bus that operates throughout campus during the day for students, faculty and staff who park in remote areas or live in the student apartments. Hours of operation vary. Students can download the FAU Mobile App to track the whereabouts of the shuttle in real time.
Effective May 1, 2023 the Credit/Debit Card convenience fee charged by our tuition payment processing partner TouchNet, will be increased from 2.85% to 2.95% (minimum $3.00). The fee is charged by TouchNet Pay Path, not FAU. FAU receives no benefit or revenue from this fee.

The University charges a $30.00 non-refundable application fee for Undergraduate, Graduate, Non-degree seeking, and College of Medicine applicants. 2/3 (66.7%) of this fee is budgeted to the Student Fee Trust Fund and 1/3 (33.3%) of this fee is allocated to the department processing the application.
