Jan 17, 2013 · I just bought the new Dell XPS 10, however when I use the camera app, there is a black screen shown instead of the preview. If I press the screen it will take a picture and it will show the image. So basically I can't preview what I take. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Regards . Myuran

Jan 21, 2022 · Hi! My integreted webcam has not been working for a couple months. When I open the camera app, zoom etc. it just shows a black screen. I tried all the Windows troubleshooting, and the Windows support team also tried everything on their end but said I would need to contact Dell. I am 14 days out of warranty so I can't connect to a chat.

Press and hold the D key and power on the computer to enter LCD built-in self-test (BIST) mode. If screen is put in oblique light (e.g. shine torch along length of screen) and there a very faint image, replace backlight.
