If you want to prepare your loop for automatic tempo detection without relying on audio analysis, both acidizer tempo tags or simply writing “123 bpm” anywhere into the filename work.

If you’re playback system is working at all in Audacity, it should be possible to set “live” simultaneous playback. Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Recording > [X] playthrough. You probably can’t use that for overdubbing.

Dec 18, 2021 · Using Audacity 2.1.3 on Windows 10 I have multiple audio files and want to merge them into one file so they still play sequentially i.e. instead of having to deal with File 1, File, 2, File 3 separately I want to merge them into File A so I hear File 1 + File 2 + File 3 + etc in one file, File A. You can generate a minute of click track and it will play for a minute. If you want to change the speed, you have to make a new minute and play that. Generate > Click Track.
