I had this exact issue, both in the demo from two weeks ago and today. I have sound in the opening logos and BRIEFLY on the main menu, then all sound on my computer cuts off until I close Anthem (meaning as long as Anthem is running, nothing on my computer will give sound).
Anthem ought to serve as the final nail in the coffin for live services. Jim sterling once said that support for such a game is conditional, not ever promised. Keep that in mind for any game that boasts “10 year plans” because it’ll most likely never come to fruition.
Go to the game in your Origin library. Click on the gear button next to the game. Select the Game Properties option. Select the Advanced Startup Options tab. Change the language to something other than your default. Wait while the game downloads and installs an update. Change the language back to your default.
Dec 1, 2021 · I had the same problem, tried to download the game via Xbox App (Game Pass Ultimate) and opened EA Play app. Download wouldnt start. The download works now, this is what helped me: 1. Closing the Xbox App. 2. Starting EA Play only 3. Adding Anthem to your game collection. 4 Start the download.
Navigate up two levels to C:\Users\YourUserNameHere\AppData\Local\Origin\ and delete all of the content in this folder. All of it. With the cache now cleared, right-click on the Origin Application Launcher and select 'Run as Administrator'. Cross your fingers and hope Anthem launches when you click it.
