Dec 18, 2011 · Dither fish. Corydoras are the best choice for substrate level, provided it is a sand substrate. A group of 20-30 minimum in either sized tank (5 or 6 foot). Angelfish will presumably be commercial fish, not wild caught, so temperature around 77-78 F (25-26C) will be OK.

I think the water requirements are slightly different for angels and platies, angels preferring soft water and platies being more of a moderately hard water fish, but platies are supposedly quite hardy so maybe that's not a big issue.

I will explain. First, that tank is not large enough for pictus catfish. This fish, Pimelodus pictus, attains close to five inches (12 cm).

I bought an Angel fish last year that was Scalare in price,but with its black bars and sort of narrow body seems like to me its got Altum DNA. The other Angel I bought was a very young one..and its grown into the plain jane every day angelfish.
Jul 22, 2020 · If the GH and pH are suitable for angelfish and livebearers, then you can mix them. However, livebearers come from water with a pH above 7.0 and a GH above 200ppm, whereas angelfish come from water with a pH below 7.0 and a GH under 100ppm. If you want angelfish and the tank is at least 4 foot long, buy 8-10 young fish and grow them up together.
