Apr 2, 2019 · Yuzo Koshiro mentioned himself, that using the Sony workstation that was required to make music for SNES was a huge pain in the ass. SNES music itself was sample-based anyway, so there's not much of a point to try making something that could be played back on the actual console.

It's a 'warning' to the player (which indicated that Koshiro was about to engage in an aural assault on you, the player) -- and one you'd never forget. Thankfully now, we have the true reason behind it.

Jun 15, 2019 · While not direct feed, Nintendo World Report has some relatively clear audio of the menu music for the Genesis mini. Sort of strange hearing familiar instrumentation with new melodies. For example, one song clearly has the Comix Zone feel, but definitely wasn't in the original game.
