Angel Campey, the cheeky and witty host of ‘The JoyRide with Angel Campey’ (weekdays 4-7pm) unsurprisingly, first found her feet as a stand-up comedian. Having graduated with an Honours degree from UCT Film and Media in 2005, Angel worked in the Cape Town film industry for a few years.
Angel Campey’s brand of observational humour has been dubbed ‘comedy for the discerning young South African’ and a recent review of her sold-out one-woman show at the National Arts Festival, Yes Really Angel called her a ‘dark comedian with a razor-sharp wit.’

Born in Durban South Africa, Angel Campey started acting at age 5 and obtained an honours degree in Film and Media at UCT. Angel Campey found a stand-up comedy mic for the first time in June 2011 and hasn’t looked back since (which sucks for the things she sometimes drops behind her.)
