Feb 28, 2024 · The finances of Times Radio can't be looked at in isolation, as it drives digital subscriptions to the newspapers. Times Newspapers made a profit of £73m last year, with digital subscribers up by 70,000. The radio station has an operating budget of around £3m per year, so if it generates a few thousand subscribers it's doing its job.
Mar 16, 2024 · Times Radio breakfast this week has Adam Boulton co-presenting. Has there ever been a more boring radio broadcaster than him? He sounds half asleep all of the time, drones along in a monotone, lacks a sense of humour, and seems to have a very narrow view of the world we live in. A dose of Boulton is a great cure for insomnia.
Oct 26, 2022 · NEW GIG: Veteran BBC producer Peter Snowdon is moving on to Times Radio in the new year, where he’ll be producing Mariella Frostrup’s show. Snowdon has spent 15 years at the BBC, most recently editing The Week in Westminster and Westminster Hour after spending nearly a decade at the Today program.

Patrick McGuire is filling in again today, but for me he's a classic case of the many print journalists, who can't cut it as a radio journalist. Downbeat and rather drab, without Matt's humour and liveliness.

I've been awake at that time a few times recently and missed the programme the night before so put Times Radio on only for them to have various Podcasts on instead. the schedule just says 'Best of Times Radio' still so I'm none the wiser.
Jul 23, 2024 · He passed peacefully with family present. As most of you will be aware, Tom lost his eyesight through cancer, and sadly the cancer returned at an advanced stage. I knew Tom from broadcast threads, most notably the Football commentators thread. There are tributes from post 50905 on that thread.
Jul 30, 2024 · This is a perennial problem with Times Radio no matter who is on air, though. The constant dropping out of calls and poor audio gets tiresome after a while - they seem to use Zoom or something similar, and the quality and stability is often terrible. Yes - it happened today during the "If I Ruled the World" feature.
