It simply refers to the immediate moment, whenever it may be. To tell the truth, I would not be likely to use it in a sentence like your sentence #3.

In Sentence A, "in the present" means to concentrate on what is going on currently in your life, rather than thinking too much about what may happen in the future or what had happened in the past. Dec 18, 2007 · You can say; Angela has been presented with a gift by her father. But this is an odd way to describe a situation between a father and daughter. This use of the verb presented in the passive is usually reserved for formal occassions, e.g. The soldier was presented with a gift by the Queen. Angela got a gift from her father would be more normal.

My dictionary gives as an example, "He presented a brave face to the world." In this case, "present to" means "to show". Just looking at my dictionary I can see that "present" is a tricky word.

So I am probably still feeling a little sick, the same as I have for a week now. 2. Simple past is a completed action; it is over with now. I am no longer sick, but is has made me tired.
