At the dinner scene (“That’s Enough!!) is when it ends between the main guy and SJ Parker, she’s getting rattled and he doesn’t help her recover in front of his own family. They are effectively done. So he had to replace her on the quick because can’t handle mom’s death. Great Movie! Watch every year around Christmas.
The Family Stone judges Meredith for being judgmental and yet, they were being judgmental of her from day one and the film doesn't recover from it because it refuses to acknowledge how wrong the family is for doing what they are accusing Meredith of. The infamous dinner scene which has Meredith misspeaking.
Hard to pick a favorite - probably Patrick bc he’s the calm amidst the storm. Least favorite is Julie, hands down - no doubt about it. Worst wing woman in the world - immediately shows up and makes things worse for her sister with her phony ass. That’s some covert sibling rivalry sabotage there.

Nov 26, 2021 · Meredith had an utter lack of ability to read the room, like when she blathered on and on about how she and Everett met and everyone was so bored they practically fell asleep. It got much worse when she was asking the gay couple her “nature or nurture” question.
