Is it to save face? Be true to yourself. I've had friends come out and it was the most difficult time of their lives, but they survived and are happier because of it. They don't have to masquerade about who they are anymore. Sure, their are loses, but nothing compared to the loss they suffered living a lie.
The DL (short for “down-low”) refers to straight men of color who live their everyday lives as heterosexuals, often married to women, but engage in discreet gay sex and gay relationships on the periphery. The show was created by Quincy Lenear and Deondray Gossett.
